Welcome to my Shake Hands page. I’m Callie Watersun, an award-winning novelist with a long history of experience in poetry, fiction, journalism, and editing, spanning more than five decades. Yes, I’m old but not cranky. Yet.

A Life Rich in Stories

I am passionate about storytelling, publishing approximately one book a year. My journey through the written word includes romance novels as well as ventures into speculative fiction under other pseudonyms.

A Legacy of Literary Contributions

My work has been featured in thousands of publications, reflecting my diverse literary interests. To date, I have authored more than twenty books under three author names.

Honors and Adventures

My dedication to writing has been recognized by many organizations such as the Virginia Press Association, Writer’s Digest, and other notable groups. In addition to my literary achievements, I have worked for many years in medical publishing, culminating in my retirement from a respected scientific journal. Educator and Editor

Beyond my own writing, I am committed to nurturing other writers through teaching and mentorship. I worked for many years in the Writers in Virginia program, working with students and other writers. As an editor, I have refined hundreds of manuscripts, helping to shape stories that resonate with readers. I am an active member of Romance Writers of America, The Western Women Writers, Southwest Writers and several other writing groups.

Embracing the Enchantment of New Mexico

I currently reside in Albuquerque, New Mexico, where the desert’s breathtaking landscapes provide a new sanctuary for my creativity, contrasting beautifully with the lush greenery of my previous home on the East Coast.
